End Child Hunger. Give to Weekend BackPack Fund TODAY!
Last year, with the Weekend Backpack Partnership’s support, 900 chronically hungry school children in Schenectady received a consistent source of nutritious food. But there are many more children suffering from food insecurity who should be able to count on their own Weekend Backpack full of food.
“With the contributions from The Schenectady Foundation, MVP and SEFCU we can continue the program at its current level,” said Robert Carreau, Executive Director of The Schenectady Foundation. “But our goal is to reach 1,000 children this year, and we are counting on the generosity of the community to raise $50,000 and enable more children to be served. We are grateful to all those who have already given to the Weekend Backpack Fund, and urge everyone to join us in this important campaign.
Imagine the intense anxiety a child experiences worrying about having enough to eat. As little as $25 enables us to provide weekend food for one child for a month; $200 for the whole school year. It’s a great investment with big returns.
