Summit to Explore Opportunities for Youth Impact

More than 250 high school youth and community leaders will come together at the Schenectady County Youth Summit to explore ways for youth to have an impact on their community.  The Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th at Proctors.
Foundation Grant Boosts Mont Pleasant Library Branch Effort

The Mont Pleasant neighborhood will soon be home to a new educational and cultural center when a new library branch is opened in the Spring of 2019. The Schenectady Foundation has committed $150,000 in funding through a capacity-building grant to provide the needed technology and furnishings that will enable services in employment support; early literacy; and financial, digital, and health literacy.

I love The Schenectady Foundation. I've been a part of the Foundation for 25 years. When I first became involved we were making about $150,000 each year in grants as a benefactor of charitable works. We did many good things. But now we've come a long way, and today are doing so much more.
